Gym

So many people out there pay around R299 per month today (January 2010) to join a Virgin Active or Planet Fitness Gym. Some of them don’t even go to gym or very little. So what benefit do you then get from monthly gym fees?

Suggestion

Why not pay around R 595 activation fee and receive a 80 - 90 % (R239 - R269 pm) discount off the actual gym fee which is R299.

This way you now don’t have to pay R299 pm and could rather use the above saving to fund part of Life Assurance or Medical Aid:

 1. To fund almost an entire comprehensive life assurance package with Discovery Life

The price could be R455 pm and this can offer you life cover, disability lump sum and income needs, severe illness in a nutshell. Included in this price could be Discovery Vitality that is in my books the most practical wellness program money can buy.

 2. To use the savings to fund a portion of your Medical Aid plan with Discovery Health

There are around 12 Discovery Health plans to choose from.

3. To add the R350 into an investment for your Retirement needs.

This is a tax deductable savings vehicle, so you will find that your investment could be “subsidized” between 18-40% by the S.A.R.S.

The investment funds could be diversified amongst various fund managers such as Allan Gray and will consist of various asset classes such as cash, bonds, equities, properties and commodities. We can even protect your investment so that 80% of the highest performance your fund has ever reached is your payout.
